Lore : The Richter family

There is no family more feared than this. When we talk about the Richters we immediately think of different murders in which the members of this family were directly or indirectly involved. It's not easy to determine when this family was officially founded, however it gained a lot of power in the 17th century, at that time Heidric Richter resided in today's Hanover and, it was said, he could predict the future using magic stones that he always carried around. Heidric got rich mainly thanks to his intelligence as a banker and with his fortune he became a famous man even outside of Hanover. However, despite his money, he was particularly feared by the more religious because of his love for black magic. There were rumors that he was capable of making people sick. The Richter family was forced to leave Hanover for a short period of time to avoid persecution but upon their return to Germanic land they chose not to settle in Hanover but rather in Hamburg. And there they met the Rote Mäntel.
The Richter family joined the organization which by then had already started practicing Magecraft. Gundolf Richter, Udo Richter and Solla Richter (known as the Three Towers) were the commanders of the Blutrache (a World War II event in which two hundred members of the Coven were killed by thirty-two of the Rote Mäntel).
In reality, the Richter family has always played the role of "waste disposal" within the Rote Mäntel. The mysterious murder of Wilfred Scholz is not little known, many suspects had fallen on the Richters who, being very conservative, had no intention of accepting the changes that Scholz wanted to introduce. Even the deaths of Anna Le Roy and Alessandro Longo, for some, seem to have been orchestrated by the same family.
But the power of the Richter family is so massive that not even a court before all the evidence would be able to convict them. Emory Pohl said about the Richters:

« Like the lion on Hanover Castle, they are the crown of the Rote Mäntel. »
